Star
The following is a piece of news that happened one year ago but still impresses me.
The Guangdong Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine (GDBIQ) found most SK-II cosmetics contained chromium and neodymium, chemicals that are banned in cosmetics in China and Europe. Chromium causes allergic dermatitis or eczema, and neodymium is harmful to the eyes, skin and even lungs. However, Hong Kong actress Carina Lau once in a public ad proclaimed “my facial wrinkles and lines have been reduced by 47 percent after using SK-II for 28 days, and I look 12 years younger.” Now, though Lau has been accused of false advertising, she announced that she would continue to support SK-II.
As society is moving forward, people now tend to materialize, regarding money as the most important thing. They are always willing to devoted themselves to earning as much money as possible, without considering other’s interest and security. Nowadays, majority of the youth are crazy idolaters who blindly or excessively admire or adore a famous super star. They have not principle of what is right or wrong, depending only on what the stars say. However, stars are not perfect; some may be also fond of money more than any other things, which will cause that they represent product with high profit but low quality. Obviously, idolaters will be easily affected by their beautiful advertisement so that they may rush to buy so-called wonderful merchandize which probably lead to all kinds of problem. In some words, idolaters should wipe their eyes and realize that not all things related to the stars are magnificent, including the stars themselves.
