Peaceful life

the-mink-lady-elegant-lady.jpgThis morning I read an article from CRI, which amused me was that our left brain can pick out desired sounds from a cacophony of loud. In daily life, we are always exposed to several noises, but at the same time we have to pick up some important singnals. So how can we do that? How we are able to pick up the speech sounds from the background noises. Researchers have found that houman left hemisphere is able to focus on the specific sounds it wants and process them.

I also learned a GRE word, it is lackadaisical(how long the spell it is). I believe many people don’t know this word. This word means lacking interest and spirit, it is synonymous with abstracted and slothful. For example, when I am sick, I become lackadaisical; When you are sick, you become lackadaisical; When everyone is sick, everyone become lackadaisical (Stupid example, I admit).
My roommate just went through procedures like a nose job aka rhinoplasty, and I thought she would be lackadaisical (still remember the word? Haha). But she seems rather satisfied.

When it was almost supper time, my friend taught me how to do”bing”, I learned very hard, but failed to do well. She taught me how to roll the dough on the floured surface, and to make the dough round and flat with a dough stick. Hoestly, it is rather difficult for it’s my first time to do “bing”, but it is very interesting.

I had a great day today! I love this kind of peaceful life!
