My Package Holiday in Egypt

August 9th, 2008 lily Posted in Entertainment | No Comments »

I’m hooked on package holidays, so I have gone to many places and countries. However, the one that impressed me most is still the Package Holiday Egypt. All through my life I have relived that very special day. It is really a thrill of lifetime.
Since we joined in the package holiday, the travel agency arranged every detail for us. On arriving, we checked in a very luxurious hotel with which extravagant pools look out over the life-giving Nile where the feluccas ply their trade as they’ve done for centuries.
Vast monuments and tombs stand proudly along the serene waters of the mighty Nile, symbolic of long-gone civilisations and 6,000 years of continuous history. Today, Egypt combines its vibrant culture and antiquity with the comfort of modern hotels and well appointed cruise boats that sail effortlessly past lush oases and shimmering deserts, on course for discovery and adventure.
During this memorable trip, we drifted down the Nile to marvel and the remains of the world’s most sophisticated early civilisations, we visited the bustling metropolis that is Cairo, or sometimes we just had the walk from our air-conditioned rooms in hotel to the beach or the pool. Everything seems so natural and peaceful. In such a place like Egypt, your mind, your spirit, your body, can really get forever tranquility.

Stop and Enjoy

August 7th, 2008 lily Posted in Life | No Comments »

hawk1702.jpgOn the road to our goals we are always living for particular destinations. In most part of our life we are too busy to have a better view of it. We ignore many beauties just around us because we have no time to notice them. I must say it is the biggest pity of our life.
I remember one essay named Relish the Moment, beautifully written by Robert J. Hasting tells us the similar philosophy: don’t live in the illusion of our future and today is the only thing you get so you just stop and enjoy the kindness and beauty of life. Or you will lose a lot. In the modern society where the pace of life is now becoming faster and faster, the closeness to nature and the gentle pace of living are almost luxuries we are easily confused by what we really want. We desire for an ideal world where life is slower and people are not in such a hurry. But that can’t happen because no matter who you are you can’t divert the tendency of the history. The only thing we can do is adapt ourselves to the fasting-moving society without losing most of the beauties. The simplest way is to give yourself some time to stop and enjoy.

Media is on the side of Obama

August 7th, 2008 lily Posted in Life | No Comments »

Today I find quite an interesting debate topic on the online debate community UberSpat, that is “The media is blatantly supporting Barack Obama’s presidential bid”. I would like to say something about this.
In my personal opinion, I do believe the media has an affair with Obama. If you don’t agree with my words, you can just turn on TV set. Barack Obama is now being displayed by the Media as someone that is paying very much attention to publically announced vital concerns happening as they are being found, and questioning the facts if someone is doing anything over such occurrences happening to the public, which may increase the chance of his victory. The above-mentioned can show that the media is standing on the side of Obama. If you still oppose my view, you can go to Uberspat to join in this debate.

Bewildering of The Unknown

August 5th, 2008 lily Posted in Life | No Comments »

Many of us may be thinking a question that what our life will be tomorrow. It is a stupid question which no one could give us a satisfied answer but we just can’t help thinking it again and again. Because after knowing where we are, we are anxious to know which path we should take to arrive where we are heading.
Tomorrow is actually a result of our altitude towards today which is a tiny part that can be under our control, and many other uncertain factors which are in the charge of the God. All we can do is try every possible way we can find to make life on our way and then let God take care of the rest.
I still remember that on my very first day in my beloved university, one of my professors told me that from now on you on a journey between who you think you are and who you can be. Sometimes during the long and tiring journey, you may suddenly feel at a loss and be fairly uncertain about what to do an examination. If that is the case, then don’t think too much and just make sure every step you are walking is graceful enough.

International Oddities

August 2nd, 2008 lily Posted in Entertainment | No Comments »

My dad smokes like a chimney. We have tried to prevent my dad from enjoying tobacco, but he himself was too much of an addict. He used to smoke 5 packs of cigarette per day, nearly covering all types and brands of products. However, it seems that only one brand is his favorite recently. One day, I happened to pick up his cigarette can and found it’s called Krypto - Big Bud which was made by International Oddities. At night, my dad sat there, lit his cigarette, his hand very steady, his eyes narrowed against the smoke. In my view, he was like traveling in the paradise, too enjoyable to describe.
I asked my dad what’s the magic of this Krypto - Big Bud. He told me, it is the result of years of experiments and testing. With its supreme quality and freshness, Krypto can have you marveling at the texture, taste and smell. The impressive bright green buds are stunning and a pleasure to experience. Even though my dad is a cigarette addict, he thinks it’s a tough torture to smoke some cigarette of poor quality. And for the first time, International Oddities gives him this kind of feeling that “blow a smoke ring to the stars with the Worlds most unique smoking experience”.

Mahatma Gandhi

August 1st, 2008 lily Posted in Life | No Comments »

Undoubtedly, mahatma Gandhi was both a political and a religious figure in India history, especially during the awfully tough period of Indian people fighting for their independence.
image.jpgAfter his graduation as a low major, expectantly,Gandhi started his career with being a ordinary or maybe extraordinary lawyer for British empire and felt quite satisfied with it then. But what he suffered during one of his many business journey in South Africa thoroughly changed his mind. Realizing what injustice and inequality Indian people were facing, Gandhi were determined to do something. As a certain result, he put himself in prison for quite a few years.
To be followed, he returned toIndiaand began to think about the future of his own country while most of the others were still feeling proud of being a part of British empire. He then travelled all over India to find out exactly what his country was suffering presently.
Afterwards, he began to organized Indian people with his agitative writing and provocative public speeches. Knowing how powerful his enemy was, Gandhi insisted Indian people take the non-violent policy , the best way to avoid riot and the countless death following.
During the less cruel but tough still fight, Gandhi made himself a saddhu much more than a leader of an independence movement. For more than one time, Gandhi used his fast to stop Indian people from fighting back the British administration and later their religious opposites .But what was the power that drove our Gandhi to keep doing these?Faith, duty or obligation? We don’t know. The only thing I can feel is that while doing this Gandhi was confident of having everything under control, or he could not wait to succeed every time.
Mahatma Gandhi, who was assassinated soon after theIndia’s independence, left the world a great legend forever.

Be Careful

August 1st, 2008 lily Posted in Life | No Comments »

This afternoon one thing taught me a lesson again. On my way back to the dormitory, I found some senior students were dealing with some old stuff. Among them I found a cassette player which I thought might be of some use for me. So I bought it without any hesitation.
But after I went back to my dormitory, I was only to find it doesn’t work. You can imagine my dismay at that time. Suddenly I thought I had been cheated. Something similar had happened before this. I was very angry with myself, because I thought I was still very careless.
Few minutes later, I went back for the seller. Fortunately, she is quite a reasonable girl. After knowing what was going on, she returned my money and said she was very sorry for that. I just should be more careful in the future, although this world is not that vicious.
To be careful is to be responsible for ourselves.
