Live on

On September 11, 2001?as Lauren Manning entered World Trade Center where she worked as a senior vice president and partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, a fireball raced down the elevator shaft and blasted her back out, burning more than 82% of her body. Doctors gave her just a 15% chance of surviving. With her husband’ care, she surviving against nature finally. During 5 years, she endured more than 25 surgeries, including skin grafts and scar revisions to her back, face, and hands. However, it’s a long road back to health. Now, she lives peacefully with husband and her five-year-old son, who is the source of her energy.

Burned over 82 percent of her body, losing parts of a few fingers on her left hand, Lauren still had a strong will to live, for her husband and little boy. Thought she has been going through uncountable pain since then, Lauren still doesn’t regret the decision.  Nowadays, many people especially the youth will probably resort to suicide if something unfortunate happen to them, without thinking of their parents, relatives and friends.  Actually, suicide seems ridiculous to me. Life means precious not only to himself but to those people who cherish him. If you died, what left to them are unimagined sadness and loneliness. For those people who love you or you love, live on.
