I can’t remember clearly how many times I have watched this movie “Titanic”. Every time I watch it I have different feelings about it.

Titanic is truly a successful movie. It tells us a moving and romantic love story that is rarely seen today.Titanic teaches us a lesson: love can make miracle happen. Even in horrible disasters we should still have faith in love. Not only once did Titanic set me in tears. I remember the first time is the band on the ship that touches my heart. When everybody else around them was in desperate panic, they used their music to console every frightened heart. Why? This is because they have love for all the people on this ship and have love for their jobs.

Another time, it strikes me as crazy that Rose went back to find Jack in the Crew Passage. Again it proved that love can make the impossible in other people’s eye possible. I do admire the love they have for each other. Besides all this many other details also touched my heart, such as ladies and children first policy and Rose’s final promise to Jack. All those manage to add special spice to this movie.

At last I would like to share two interesting but meaningful dialogues with you. Rose: I am flying, Jack. Jack: Rose, I trust you. I trust you, Rose.

I will always keep this movie on my computer. Whenever I doubt the existence of true love, I should watch this movie once again. True love does exist.

Unlimited Wants

Man tends to have a lot of desires. But not all our wants can be fulfilled eventually. So we need to be more rational. The severe reality is that our world is faced with unsolvable scarcity of recourses. It can by no means provide every individual with the things he longs for.
To alleviate the tension between man insatiable desire and the scarcity our society is facing, we should learn to sort out what is the most important things for us. That is to say, what do we want most? To live a happy life, in fact we don’t need to have so many wants. Just the opposite, usually the more wants we have, the more unhappy we will be, for the chances are that most of our wants will not be fulfilled.
Man needs to control ourselves. We need to limit our personal desire to one reasonable extent. This is for the sake of us as well as of our society.

On deciding what can be eaten and what can’t, people can become illogical. For example, if you live in Mediterranean you will regard octopus as delicacy and can’t understand why some people feel repulsive at the sight of it. On the other hand, your stomach would turn at the idea of fried potato with animal fat, while it is quite popular among northern countries. The sad truth is, most of us are born to several particular kinds of food for their whole life.
No other creature receives more praise and abuse the common snail in a garden. Cooked with wine, they can be a rare special in many parts of the world. Countless people know from their birth that snail can be use for food, but my friend Robert lives in a country where people hate snail. His flat is in a big city and he doesn’t have his own garden. For years he has been asking me to collect the snails in my garden for him. At beginning this idea is not so appealing to me. Until one day, after a heavy rain, I wandered about in my garden finding so many snails climbing slowly on my beloved plants. At a impulse, I collected several dozen, put them into a paper bag and went for Robert. He was quite delighted to see and equally delighted with my little present. Leaving the paper bag in the hall, I went into the living room with him and we talked for several hours completely forgetting the snails. When Robert asked me to stay for dinner, it finally reminded me. Of course, snail would be a main dish. I didn’t like this idea very much so I followed Robert out reluctantly. To our dismay, we saw snails everywhere: they had escaped from the paper bag and had taken complete possession of the hall. Since then I have never dared to see sail anymore.

A dream, that has been dreamed exactly one hundred years by billions of people, eventually comes true. Before the Opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, my mind was in a paradox. Like many other Chinese, I had desired for the opening for years, thus I cried out for time going faster. However, on the other hand, because of the same reason, as Professor Yu Dan said in a programme in CCTV-5, I wanted the time to slow down for the moment that had been dreamed for too long was too heavy to open.
At half past nineteen, my parents and I were all seated in front of the television like loyal pilgrims of a religion, awaiting the historical moment to come. Several minutes before twenty o’clock, thousands of actors showed up in the centre of the Nest Bird with thousands of fous, which were one of most classical instruments in ancient China. While these actors were drumming the fous, a fascinating effect was presented. These 2008 actors and fous shined and sparked in a very ordered way and then one minutes before 8 o’clock they formed some numbers to count down the opening of the 29th Olympic Games. These numbers were both in Arabic number and in simplized Chinese character.
At 8 o’clock, our national anthem echoed in the Nest Bird and our solemn national flag was hoisted in the centre of the stadium. All Chinese in the stadium sang the national anthem together. In front of the television, Papa and Mama also sang the national anthem with them. At that moment, I recognized my parents’ deep love for our country. I was touched and burst into tears in the bottom of my heart.
In the next one hour, I was surprised at the grandeur of the performances time and time again. Every programme presented was of high quality in many respects. These programmes were the integration of the cleverness of ancient Chinese and the intelligence of modern Chinese for the profundity of Chinese culture and excessively high technology were organically combined together. I don’t remember how many times had I cried in my heart during that time. The world was concentrating on China, a country with the most magnificent, various and splendid culture, the biggest population and the fastest pace of development. At that moment, I wanted to cry out that I am proud of being a Chinese and I love my country. During the performances, even when I wanted to pee very much as a result of eating too much watermelon I dare not go to the toilet for fear that I would miss any fantastic part.
After the performances, it was the ceremony of the delegates of different countries entering the stadium. As the delegates of different countries went through the gate of the Nest Bird, my Papa was recalling all the facts he knew about these countries and narrated them to me as if he was a professional reporter in the stadium. Among all the countries, Papa showed extreme interests in the former Soviet Union countries such as Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, and Ukraine and so on. He seemed a keen fan of Soviet Union as he declaimed how strong and great Soviet Union was at that time. He told that when he was a student, before the Soviet Union was dismissed into dozens of countries, there were only some one hundred and eighty countries in the world, but now there were more than two hundred and twenty countries attending the Olympic Games. He had to admit that the world has changed drastically. When the ceremony was processing, my Mama couldn’t help falling asleep in the sofa. My father and I kept our eyes on the television with our whole concentration and exchanged our knowledge about hundreds of countries. This time, in Beijing, representatives of different countries went into the stadium in a brand new way, in a Chinese way. These countries went into the stadium in the order of the stroke of Chinese character of the Chinese translation of these countries. To tell the truth, as a Chinese, I also felt a little bit confused because I have not counted the stroke of the Chinese character since I was in primary school. However, I still consider it a very good way because in this way, the importance of Chinese culture would be emphasized to billions of Chinese people as well as people all over the world.
After the entering ceremony, the presidents of Chinese Olympic Committee and the World Olympic Committee had and opening orations. While Roger was making the speech, my Papa asked to interpret it to him, but I felt a big burden off my mind because Roger spoke English with an accent which I was not familiar, so I told my father the brief meaning of it. I felt that as an English major, I had a very long way to go if I was determined to be an excellent interpreter.
At the end of the opening ceremony, several top Chinese athletes ran in the track as Olympic torch bearers to transport to hallowed fire to the Olympic flame pot. The last torch bearer was Li Ning. When he got the fire, he flew to the sky and ran along with the edge of the Nest Bird. At the last second, the Olympic flame pot appeared in the light and Li Ning lit it up which absolutely the opening of the 29th Olympic Games, of a new page of Chinese history.
A moment has finally come. A dream had finally come true.

I missed a chance

Today I missed a chance. This made me very regretful. There is no one else to blame but myself. I was too indecisive. This experience taught me a lesson that you should make up your mind immediately when opportunity comes to you or you will miss it forever.
However, the sad truth of life is that sometimes it’s really hard for you to make a choice because the things that you have to choose between are both very important to you. You don’t want to lose either of them. This can put you in a dilemma where you don’t know which way to go. But opportunity is not willing to give us a little more time to ponder the situation. It requires us to make up our minds immediately or it will let regret takes us over.
The only solution I can see is to learn from your experience and try to be quick and wise when you have to make a choice and grasp a precious opportunity.

Do not give anybody advice until asked. Don’t pretend to be all-knowing and all-powerful because nobody can be that way.The sad truth is if you frequently give your friends your minds, as time passes by, you will eventually be isolated. In most cases even your advice is really helpful your friends may not accept them for they sometimes prefer to accomplish their own business in their own way. That is to say, your advice is not welcome even to your closest friends.
By saying not giving advice to other people easily I didn’t mean you should care about your friends. It is just about when to give them and how to give them. If your friends are asking you for advice you should try your best to give some hearty suggestion from your experience. Otherwise, you’d better keep your mouth shut.
Our friends don’t need us to tell them how to do this or how to do that. Sometimes they just need our support.
