SocialSpark is Live

May 7th, 2008 lily Posted in Technology No Comments »

I bet you guys here have heard of Payperpost and hang on a lot there. If you know Payperpost, you must have a concept of SocialSpark, which is another website created by IZEA besides PPP.

Like PPP, SocialSpark is a Social Marketing Network that connects advertisers and bloggers through an online advertising marketplace. Advertisers are able to target blogs based on conversational topics and make cash sponsorship offers to the bloggers who publish them. Bloggers can make money by either placing display advertisements on their blog or by writing sponsored content. The sponsorships offered through the SocialSpark marketplace allow advertisers to build buzz, generate traffic and maximize social media exposure.

But there is a big difference between PPP and SocialSpark. SocialSpark incorporates a messaging system through which I can get noticed by advertisers that may want to use my services. I can easily search on other bloggers or advertisers and get in touch with them as well. It really saves us a lot of trouble and makes blogging more convenience. These are the advantages that make me love SS so much. However, I don’t like that if you’re choosen, you have 12 hours after receiving an email to write. I think it puts people in other timezones than the americans in a disadvantage. SS should take serious consideration into improving it.

I’ve signed up in SocialSpark few hours ago and I have been already deeply in love with it. You can go and see my profit to know more detail information, but I haven’t take part in many actives there because I’m still not quite familiar with the system.  Go right now and sign up as their member, I sure you’ll benefit a lot!

Flashback Data

March 14th, 2008 lily Posted in Technology No Comments »

Yesterday was the worst day ever in my life. Because of virus, I accidentally deleted all files in my computer including my paper, which was due to hand in 4 hours later. Time was so limited that it was impossible for me to rewrite. I decided to ask my friend for help, and then he told me he would send my hard drive to Flashback Data.

“What the hell is Flashback Data?” I asked.

“Flashback Data is an industry leader in Computer Data Recovery and Restoration. They offer Computer Forensics or data recovery services to help recover your hard drive crashed or your critical files accidentally deleted. They have the most advanced technology in data recovery to retrieve data from any media type or operating system….” He kept up a constant flow of words.

After hearing his words, I was still in dubitation. However, 2 hours later I got my hard driver and I found that all the data deleted accidentally had come back! Until then, I began to believe his words, I began to know how talent Flashback Data was.

Save your time and money on sending Certified Mail

March 5th, 2008 lily Posted in Technology No Comments »

I’ve lived in Canada for nearly 2 years. Frankly, it’s a rather tough time because I have to be far way from my family and my friends. To release my loneliness and sadness, I always try every method to contact my family, such as Email, MSN, phone call and Certified Mail. However, phone call and USPS Certified Mail are a little expensive. Furthermore, the procedure of sending a Certified Mail is unbelievably troublesome. So I seldom use it unless it’s really an urgent situation.

Few days ago, my roommate Mia recommended me a kind of Certified Mail Envelope which totally changed my attitude toward Certified Mail. After I signed up for their Certified Mail free trial on their website, they sent me 2 envelopes, which are approved by the U.S. Postal Service and are bright white and printed with the distinguished USPS Certified Mail automation markings. What I needed to do was just address my letter using the free online software; their software would then automate addressing, tracking and printing bar codes for each letter. There were no forms or labels to affix and no monthly fees or subscriptions. What’s more, I can track each letter online, print proof of delivery using their Electronic Return Receipt (ERR) or USPS Signature Confirmation service.

Certified Mail Envelopes really make sending Mail Envelope fast and easy. With them, I can skip the trip to post office; I can track and confirm each certified letter I send; I don’t have to worry about the affixed monthly subscriptions or minimums…You know what all these mean? They mean I’m saving my time and money!

Wanna have a try? Just go! You will soon fall in love with it.

My secret weapon-MemoryUp(Mobile RAM & Memory Booster)

December 12th, 2007 Lisa Posted in Technology No Comments »

I’m a crazy game fan who can’t live without games. So I download all kind of possible games to my cell phone, and soon, it’s stuffed with thousand of mini games. I am so proud of my achievement that I keep playing these games if time permitting. I often show off my ability to switch quickly from one game to another in front of my classmates. Without doubt, I often get the respond expected. They all marvel at my “strong” ability and smartness. However, I know it’s not because of me but my secret weapon-MemoryUp that my cell phone can be so fast and smart.
MemoryUp (Mobile RAM Booster) is a powerful Java virtual machine (JVM) management and RAM boosting application specially designed for high-end smartphones (including Nokia, sumsung, Sony Ericsson etc) and BlackBerry. In case you don’t know what RAM is, I hereon give you a brief introduction. RAM is the abbreviation of Random Access Memory, which is a temporary storage area for your smartphone. The more programs you run at the same, the more RAM they will take up. If so, it will directly lead to the slowness of your smartphone. I think many people have met this problem before. Of course I also have! I still remember one day when I indulged myself in the games world, my phone suddenly became slow like a snail. Whatever I did to try to get it normal, it was still the same. Finally, I lost my interest on games and also on my smartphone.
Let’s back to MemoryUp. Through analyzing running J2ME programs, MemoryUp automatically recovers and re-allocates occupied RAM, hence substantially enhances the performance of mobile devices. In cases some applications are no longer active, MemoryUp will reclaim the occupied resources and put them to a better use. In the meantime, the mobile system does not need to access hard drive as frequently, which greatly enhances its overall performance.
You may wonder how I get to know MemoryUp. It’s pretty simple. I saw one of my friend’s cell phone by accident, and I found this small tool. Then I installed it in my phone with no much expectation, but it really worked! My phone soon returned to normal again! No, I think it’s much much faster now than before. I’ve never imagine a phone can be so fast and stable when running dozens of softwares at the same time. MemoryUp let me know, nothing is impossible and impossible is nothing.

Get Your Smartphone Smart Again with MemoryUp Standard Edition (Mobile RAM & Memory Booster)

December 9th, 2007 Lisa Posted in Technology No Comments »

I have to admit that Nokia N70 is nice and convenient. As a kind of smart phone, what it is able to do is far more than just making calls and receiving short messages. As many other users, I downloaded lots of software and installed them on it, hoping it could be smarter. But after no more than a month, when I switch an application to anther, it will become really slow, or even the operating system will pause. I called the Nokia service center for help. But they just suggested me to uninstall some of the applications. That’s nonsense.I searched the information through the internet and I knew the reason caused my cell phone no longer so much smart was the memory can not be managed in a good way. For a smart phone, there are dozens of JVM (Java Virtual Machine) based programs running in the front-end or back-end. When you run an application, the operating system will allocate certain space for it in the RAM. What is RAM? That’s short for the Random Access Memory, which is used to store the information quickly. OK, if you run application A, then the system gives it 20% space in the RAM. And 25% for the application B. Now it only have 55% RAM to run the other applications, which used to take 100% RAM to do. It is natural the system will become quite snow.

My analogy maybe too simple, but it makes sense. And as a matter of fact, what makes things worse is that even if you close an application after using it, the memory could not be set free totally, some of the memory will still be taken for nothing. Which means, after running the application A, the 20% space in the RAM can not be free as quickly as you want, maybe 5% of it is always be taken.
Then I decided to try the eMobistudio’s MemoryUp, a small tool to manage the memory effectively. The MemoryUp is designed for taking control of JVM for each smart phone system, smartly analyze running programs (including hidden programs), automatically allocate and recover occupied RAM, and boost system to its best performance. In cases that some JVM based applications are no longer active on your smart phone, like I’ve mentioned above, the 5% percent memory taken for nothing, MemoryUp can reclaim lost resources and put them to better use. By reclaiming resources, the smartphone does not need to access the hard drive frequently.

Besides Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, it can fully support the Symbian system. And it also has edition for BlackBerry system. Generally speaking, with the effective allocation of memory to execute programs, and the avoiding of breaking down and becoming slow, it will make your cell performances better as a whole. As it for me, my Nokia has become smart again. Now I can switch from different applications as I want, without worrying it will break down.
