A common but true love story(part one)
He was born in 1921, in a village 10 miles away from the town, well cultivated at that time, went to the old-fashioned school for couple years, and then been an apprentice in a high education institute. She, 5 years younger than he, was born in the village at the edge of the town, almost illiberally, just knew the Arabia numbers.
The story began at her age 18, when they married. From her words, she just wanted to find a place that could escape from the Japanese’s bombing when many Chinese people encountered during the Japanese invasion in 1940s. Though the town was very remote and long distance from the big cities, it was still exposed to the war. She accepted the proposal after the match-maker introduced his village, ‘coz she thought she could find a mountain to hide should there was another bombing.
He left the village where he was born, earned bread for her and his 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl, crossed almost the whole country, couple times back home every year, leaving her at home, feeding the kids and taking care of his parents. The times they met are very rare. Till he retired at his 60s, and she was at her mid 50s, they were old already. Kids grew up and had another generation…
