Doomsday, I have only heard of the term in fictions but never thought of it in reality. After the earthquake, I had been thinking of the doomsday. All the civilizations that had been created, constructed and proud of by human beings for thousands of years were destroyed within only several seconds. Everything seems gone. Hopeless are the people who survived the disaster.

Doomsday, it is just a movie. I was determined to watch it with curiosity.
As it is entitled, the movie tells a story of doomsday in 2012.Earthquakes, volcanoes eruption, temperature fiercely increasing, were the preludes of the doomsday in the film. “The earth rotation is accelerating its speed. Once it stops, the earth and all the creatures on it will be doomed to death.” Modern human beings, all the scientists in the U.S gather to come up with any solutions. But nobody is powerful enough to prevent it happening.
However, Almighty Lord can. Throughout the movie, it keeps propagandizing a religious thought to the audiences. Several people from every walk of life assemble in the Maya Pyramid by some uncertain force. And then, a new life is given in the holy temple. Maya Pyramid which was located in Latin America and Maya Calendar the miraculous mysteries that has been spread all over the world, in this movie, are a vital clue. When scientists can’t figure out a way to save the earth, when our only habitant is on the edge of being destroyed, it is the Maya Prophets that saved the mankind.
“You’ve been chosen as the messengers of God to spread his word that to non-believers left on earth. Miracle of life brought us together reminding us of God’s grace and power. There’s still a world out there. The God has given us a chance to show that world’s eternal love. This isn’t an end. It’s just the beginning.” This is the monologue in the last scene of the movie. The intent is obvious. Again, religion, the controversial topic is repeated in the movie to preach the Christ.
Actually, I am a non-believer of any religion. But I show reverence to any form of religion. When human being cannot handle the issue, they sell their souls to the immortals with the hope that they can be saved by the God.
