Today after finished writing a letter, I wrote down the date at the bottom of the letter–2007. One of my roommates passed by and saw. She then yelled at me with a extreme voice:” Come on! It is 2008 now!” Then I realized I made a very big mistake.

2008 will be a significant year for China, for Beijing and for all Chinese. I still remember 6 years ago, in 2002, when Beijing was announced to be the host of 2008 Olympic Games, I was still in high school. I didn’t quite understand what is host of Olympic Games, but at that time I was so confused that why these guys in the television were so happy and exciting. And I thought there was still a long long way to go to 2008.

However, time flies, it’s 2008 now. Olympic Games will be held in August in Beijing. Even though I’m far way in Canada, I still feel my heart beating mightily as the day comes near. I believe every Chinese has the same feeling with me. The biggest worldwide event will be held in China, which serves as a window to show the world that China is developing and is no longer “Sick man of East Asia”!
